Repair, reuse, and recycle: Prioritising efficiency and environmental responsibility
Sustainability has become a top priority globally, and collective efforts are essential to achieving the ambitious target of net-zero emissions by 2050.
AJW Group is committed to sustainability in the aviation industry with our focus being on three key areas: prioritising the repair, reuse, and recycling of aircraft components; reducing our environmental impact; and delivering on our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact.
Repair, Reuse, and Recycle:
With over 90 years of experience, AJW Group prioritises repairing, reusing, and recycling aircraft components, ensuring the highest quality repairs that meet the latest certification standards. By advocating the use of high-quality used parts, we help customers save on costs while reducing the demand for new components and landfill waste.
Environmental Awareness:
AJW has made significant investments in renewable energy across its global operations, starting with its headquarters in the UK. Our 175,000 sq. ft. headquarters are equipped with rainwater harvesting systems and over 2,500 solar panels, which are expected to generate nearly 800,000 kWh of renewable energy annually and potentially power up to 55% of our operations with solar energy.
The AJW Technique battery MRO facility benefits from this renewable energy source, offering customers a service that aligns with their sustainability objectives. This marks a shift towards more sustainable energy usage, as aircraft batteries entering the facility are predominantly recharged using renewable energy. The integration of renewable energy into day-to-day operations enhances the company’s energy efficiency and aligns with the growing demand for more environmentally responsible aviation solutions.
United Nations Global Compact:
In 2023, we signed the United Nations Global Compact, affirming our commitment to operating responsibly to benefit society. Collaboration and innovation are at the core of our mission to reduce carbon emissions to create a cleaner, more sustainable aviation industry. Join us in shaping a brighter, greener future for all.
In 2024, we launched our Sustainability Strategy Statement, committing AJW Group to two core pillars:

AJW Group participates in the UN Global Compact (UNGC), the world's largest global corporate sustainability initiative. The UNGC's vision is to 'mobilise a global movement of sustainable companies and stakeholders to create the world we want.'
To make this happen, it supports us in our continuing efforts to:
1. do business responsibly, aligning our strategies and operations with Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption; and
2. take strategic actions to advance broader societal goals, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation.
Our participation in the UNGC is a polestar, heralding a new era of commitment to sustainability as we fly towards our centenary anniversary in 2032.
