The Quality Department is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Company's Quality Program and ensuring that all employees, at all levels, are aware of their responsibilities and roles.
The department champions quality and provides leadership with the aim of gaining continuous commitment from employees while assuring compliance to customer, regulatory and statutory requirements.
We continuously strive to improve customer satisfaction through maintaining and reviewing the AJW Quality Management System, based on the AS 9120, ISO9001 and FAA AC00-56A standards.
Maintaining our quality certifications worldwide is critical to the on-going success of the business due to the heavily regulated and competitive nature of the aviation industry, and the high expectations of our customers.
AJW stays ahead of its competitors through innovation, modernisation, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. The current portfolio of approvals is set to expand to include internationally recognised standards in Environmental Safety, Information Security and Health & Safety. This will demonstrate AJW's commitment to the sustainability of our business.
The department's key functions are to maintain the Quality Management System as well as providing guidance, advice, support and training to staff at all levels on any issues relating to quality compliance. Daily tasks can range from ensuring a customer complaint resolution, to the updating of procedure maps.
Staff working in the Quality Department would be expected to have a strong understanding of the supply chain and the workings of a Quality Management System, understanding and solving problems, have an eye for detail, while being a logical and innovative thinker. An ability to communicate and mediate would also be useful. Previous experience within the aviation industry, or a production, manufacturing, assembly environment would be a distinct advantage.

What our people say
Wayne Higgins
Quality Engineer
Wayne Higgins
Quality Engineer
I started at AJW back in 2018, having previously worked in the ballet shoe manufacturing industry for almost 18 years.
I began my AJW career in the warehouse, with no prior aviation knowledge or experience. I started in the Unserviceable Inspection department, moving onto Inspection after 6 months. In these roles, I learnt a vast amount of information about Airworthiness Release Certification, SPM, CAMO, MOE, and met so many knowledgeable colleagues and people I can now call friends.
In October 2023, I decided I needed a change to enable me to keep growing and learning. AJW offered me a role as a Quality Engineer, which for me was an amazing opportunity to challenge myself and put myself out of my comfort zone.
At the age of 43, I think it is important to be given new opportunities when you are eager and want to be challenged, so I can only thank AJW for providing me with many chances to grow and develop my knowledge. You never stop learning!
