Innovative contract development

 

The Commercial team is responsible for managing a wide range of activities covering strategic development, joint ventures and co-ordinating structured responses in the form of proposals for services including power by the hour, repair management, leasing, aircraft teardown, package acquisitions and consignment contracts; long term or high value.

 

It is their responsibility to tailor and provide these individual solutions for new and existing customers and partners, starting from initial enquiry right the way through to implementation; ensuring the customer is at the centre of the process and receives exceptional service throughout.

The Commercial team is made up of a well-travelled and experienced team who combine their expertise to find solutions for customers that bring together the three key competences of AJW Investment in Inventory; Excellent Customer Service and Excellent Logistics in innovative ways.

 

The attributes which these individuals have which assist in making our department a success include: an ambition to succeed; keen attention to detail; strong negotiation and good communication skills; being organised; methodical and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and the ability to think analytically.

I joined AJW in 2009, just after finishing my A levels! I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to grow a career without going to university. 


"When I first started, I didn’t even realise that aircraft had parts that needed to be maintained or replaced, just like my car needed an MOT. 


I quickly discovered a love for aviation, and with the support of many experienced leaders across the company, I progressed my way from Admin Assistant to Senior Commercial Manager (with a sidestep role in between!).  


I’ve had the opportunity to travel extensively and work with many different cultures, which has developed my knowledge of airlines and their operations, as well as teaching me how to adapt my negotiation skills to suit different regions.  


I have often been able to extend my work trips into the weekend – a memorable highlight is spending some extra days in Buenos Aries to explore the city and enjoy the steak and wine!  


When I got married, I received two additional days’ holiday, which was a special added touch.  
Overall, my 18-year-old self couldn’t have asked for a better company to allow me to flourish and grow my career!
